A Mi Tierra

This is the debut CD of Afrodysia, a Long Island based Afro-Cuban jazz group that has developed a sound based on combining latin music and rhythms and straight-ahead jazz.

Vocalist Deborah Aviles is featured on five of twelve tracks singing her own compositions and a latin classic "Yatra-ta" by Tania Maria. The instrumentals cover new works by keyboardist and bandleader Mario Cazanueve and include Sonny Rollin's "St. Thomas."

Members of Afrodysia are from Uruguay, Cuba, Austria, and the US and have created a dynamic new sound.
